China has fully reopened its borders, promising recovery of international tourism and travel. Many of the visa-free travel policies that were in place prior to the pandemic have therefore come back into effect, enabling people from a wide range of countries to visit China on a short-term basis. This will make it easier for you to attend CITEXPO this year. Please kindly check if your country is included in this classification to see visa requirement to enter China.

Countries With 30 Day Visa Free Travel to China

China has signed agreements on mutual visa exemption with some countries around the world. Citizens from these countries are allowed to travel to China without a visa for up to 30 days for the purposes of tourism, travel, business, and visiting family or friends. The list includes:

Countries With 15 Day Visa Free Travel to China

China has recently introduced a trial initiative permitting visitors from multiple countries to enter without a visa for a period of 15 days. Launched in December, this policy is scheduled to continue for a year, concluding at the end of November this year. If you are from one of these countries and intend to attend CITEXPO, this presents an opportunity to enter China seamlessly. The list of eligible countries includes:

Up to 144 Hour Visa Free Transit in Shanghai

China allows eligible travelers from certain countries to enter and stay in certain areas including Shanghai for 24, 72, and 144-hour periods without prior application for a visa when transiting to a third country. However there will be some requirements such as:

• A passport that's valid for at least three months from when you arrive.
• A connecting ticket to another country or region within 144 hours.
• The landing card for foreigners in transit that is filled out upon arrival in China.
• You might have to answer some questions when you arrive at the immigration counter.
