Chinese Tire Manufacturers Embark on Global Expansion


In 2023, Chinese tire enterprises continued their strategic overseas investments to overcome trade barriers and solidify their dominance in the global tire industry. Here is an overview of the key projects undertaken by leading Chinese tire companies:


  • Sailun Tire Group (Booth No. 1620) - Cambodia & Mexico
    Sailun invested a significant amount, totaling 1.4 billion RMB yuan, in a 6 million semi-steel tire project in Cambodia. Additionally, in December 2023, Sailun announced a project in Mexico, with an annual capacity of 6 million semi-steel tires and an investment of 1.7 billion RMB yuan.
  • Doublestar Tire (Booth No. 1511) - Cambodia
    In May 2023, Doublestar marked the successful groundbreaking ceremony for its plant in Cambodia. The plant is expected to contribute 8.5 million sets capacity (7 million semi-steel tires & 1.5 million all-steel tires) with an investment amounting to 1.4 billion RMB yuan.
  • Haohua Tire (Booth No. 1110) - Vietnam
    On July 16, 2023, Haohua Tire announced a 3.6 billion RMB yuan investment in a plant project in Vietnam's Tỉnh Bình Province. The facility is projected to produce 14.4 million sets of tires annually.
  • Prinx Chengshan (Booth No. 1315) - Thailand
    Prinx Chengshan continued its commitment to the third phase of the Thailand plant in the second half of 2023. This expansion is set to add an additional 2 million sets of semi-steel tires annually.
  • General Science (Booth No. 1325) - Thailand
    Jiangsu General Science Technology Co., Ltd. established the second phase of its plant in Thailand, boasting an annual production capacity of 6 million semi-steel tires and 0.5 million all-steel tires. The total investment for this phase amounted to 1.8 billion RMB yuan.
  • Firemax Tire - Vietnam
    In August 2023, Firemax announced a plant project in Vietnam, with an annual capacity of 8 million semi-steel tires and 1.2 million all-steel tires.
  • Maxtrek Tire – Malaysia
    In September 2023, Maxtrek invested 2 billion RMB yuan in a facility located in Malaysia, with an annual capacity of 6 million semi-steel tires and 0.5 million all-steel tires.
