Goodyear Developed 90% Sustainable-Material Tire!

Goodyear developed a new tire constructed from 90% sustainable materials that provide better fuel efficiency than traditional tires. The tire has passed all applicable regulatory testing and has been approved for road use.

The 90% sustainable-material demonstration tire consists of 17 ingredients and 12 components, including carbon black, soybean oil, silica, polyester, resin, steel material, etc.

After announcing the capability to demonstrate a 70% sustainable-material tire in January 2022, Goodyear, working with its supply base, plans to sell a tire with up to 70% sustainable-material content in 2023.

As one of the world's largest tire companies with over 70 thousand employees, Goodyear has set a good example by showing great concern for the environment. Goodyear has even set an ambitious goal of creating a tire made entirely of sustainable materials (100% sustainable-material tire) by 2030.
